Herbert Raap
Funeral services for Herbert “Arnie” Raap, 92, of Wheatland, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with Pastor Richard Smith officiating. Burial was in the Inland Cemetery, Bennett.
Mr. Raap died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Herbert Raap was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Withee, Wis., the son of William and Emma Raap. He married Laverna Kleppe on Sept. 5, 1945. She died May 5, 2007.
Mr. Raap was a lifelong farmer who raised purebred Duroc pigs and was a seed corn salesman for over 20 years.
Survivors include daughters, Lois (Thomas) Hartog, and Ruth Raap, all of Davenport, and Emma (Keith) Mason, Wheatland; grandchildren, Deanna and husband Stewart Carroll, John Oberhaus, and Kyle, Elizabeth, Emma, and Eric Mason; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, and brothers, William, Robert, Ed, and Henry.
