Donovan Buckley
Memorial services for Donovan Buckley, 78, of Blue Grass, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4 at the Unity Church of Christianity, Moline. The body was cremated. The Lewis Funeral Home, Muscatine, was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Buckley died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Trinity, Rock Island.
Donovan Buckley was born March 5, 1934, in Muscatine, the son of George and Lois (Pinckney) Buckley. He married Helen Martin on May 10, 1975, in Palos Park, Ill.
Mr. Buckley worked for R.S.C.
He was a member of the Rosicrucian Order, Unity Church in Moline, Local 150 Operating Engineers and Family of Native Spirit.
His hobbies were organic gardening, building his earth home, reading and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; children, Jonathan Buckley, Blue Grass; Joshua Buckley, and Stan Grzyb and wife Ayumi, all of Davenport; and Felicia Tran, North Hollywood, Calif.; grandchildren, Quentin, Anthony, Courtney, Take, Jun and Ryo; sisters, Thelma and husband Ray Whittaker, Columbus Junction, Myrna and husband Robert Sell, Aledo, Ill., Ruth and husband Larry Robertson, Grinnell, and Ida and husband John Ottaviano, Tahlequah, Okla.; and a brother, Joseph and wife Barbara, LaGrange, Wyo.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Stan.
