Daniel Stalkfleet
A memorial service for Daniel Eugene Stalkfleet, 59, of Muscatine, was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services, Muscatine, with Peggy Nelson officiating.
Mr. Stalkfleet died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at his home.
Daniel Stalkfleet was born March 5, 1953, in Muscatine, the son of Robert and Bernice (McKillip) Stalkfleet. He married Lorena Sammon on July 16, 1999, in Muscatine.
Mr. Stalkfleet retired from Heinz Inc. after 36 years.
He was a member of the Muscatine American Legion, where he served as sergeant-at- arms.
His hobbies were motorcycles, sports, NASCAR, Iowa Hawkeyes and spending time with family and friends.
A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife; children, Mike and wife Missy, LeClaire; Amber and husband Joe Hazen, Illinois City; and Justin Sammon and wife Chrissy, Jessica Crowe and Curtis Bundy, all of Muscatine; 14 grandchildren; his mother, Bernice Stalkfleet, Muscatine; sisters, Vicki King, Ellsworth, Iowa, Christine Shotwell, West Branch, and Pamela Stalkfleet, Iowa City; and a brother, Rick and wife Kathy, Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother-in-law, John King.
