Connie Thompson
Services in celebration of the life of Carmen “Connie” E. Thompson, 90, of East Moline, were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 at the Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial was in the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Connie Arnold was born in 1922 in Winneshiek County, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Gladys Arnold. She married Dyson Thompson on Oct. 11, 1944, in Davenport. He died in 1996.
Her hobbies were watching cooking programs, sewing, doing crafts and playing cards.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Survivors include sons, William, Donald (Barb), and Michael (Carol), all of Davenport, Ronald, East Moline, and Scott (Mary), Olathe, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Engler, Eldridge, and Janice Moeller, Davenport; and brothers, Robert Arnold, Eldridge, and Duayne Arnold, Davenport.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert; a great-granddaughter; and brothers, Dale, Darrell, Arlen, and Neil.
