Funeral services celebrating the life of Anna Marie Thiessen, 79, of Buffalo, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, in the All Faith Chapel at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial was in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal.

Mrs. Thiessen died Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at her home.

Anna Olsen was born Feb. 17, 1933, in Montpelier, the daughter of Harold and Hazel (Fullmer) Olsen. She married Kenneth Thiessen on Oct. 6, 1951, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Buffalo. He died Oct. 22, 2011.

Mrs. Thiessen was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church, Buffalo.

Memorials may be made to the family or Calvary Lutheran Church.

Survivors include children, Anita (Steve) Hippler, Moline, Kenneth Jr. (Jonna), Davenport, Thomas (Wilma), Blue Grass, Kathy (Cole) Boersma, and Michael, all of Buffalo, Teresa (Randy) Plett, Davenport, Jeffrey (Debbie Banaszek), Rock Island, and Elizabeth (Ron) Brown, Walford; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Lowder, Davenport, Velma Parrish, Erie, Colo., and Juanita Barefoot, Raeford, N.C.; and a sister-in-law, Mary Hazen, Davenport.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death a son-in-law, Leslie Boersma; a grandson, Michael; a great-granddaughter; brothers, Harold Jr., Otto, and Raymond; and a sister-in-law, Delores Olsen.
