William Lensch
Funeral services for William Donald Lensch, 88, of Davenport, formerly of New Liberty, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 9 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Burial was in the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Lensch died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Manor Care Center, Davenport.
William Lensch was born May 20, 1923, in Davenport, the son of Fred and Minnie (Nothdorf) Lensch. After graduating from Bennett High School he married Beverly Butenschoen on June 4, 1955, in Davenport.
The couple farmed in the New Liberty area, retiring in 1988.
Mr. Lensch was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Bennett, the Cattlemen’s Association, and Farm Bureau.
His hobbies were farming and gardening.
Memorials may be made to Bennett Peace Church of Christ or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen (Kirk) Knickrehm, Davenport; a son, Gary (LeeAnn), North Little Rock, Ark.; grandchildren, Aaron and Becky; a brother, Keith (Norma); and a sister-in-law, Vera Pewe, Durant.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kevin, and a brother, Eugene.
